Dr. Bettencourt helps a lot of folks from the Napa area who are hurt on the job. According to the National Safety Council, the most frequent type of work injury is musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), which include injuries to the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments and joints. MSDs account for more than one third of all workplace accidents.
The most frequent type of MSD is a strain, which is an injury to a muscle or tendon. Strains can be caused by lifting, pushing or pulling too much weight, or by engaging in repetitive movements. Other common MSDs include carpal tunnel syndrome, tendinitis and back problems.
These injuries can be prevented by using proper lifting techniques, taking several breaks and using ergonomic tools. Employers can also help put a stop to injuries by providing their employees educational materials on putting a stop to these injuries.
Back pain and injuries are a usual problem that Dr. Bettencourt sees in our #Ciyt# office and we also work with folks who have shoulder or neck problems.
If you have had a work injury or accident and live in the Napa community, give Dr. Bettencourt a call and make an appointment today. We will work with you to create a treatment plan that will help you get relief and do our best to have you back on the job as fast as possible!
